Sometimes a pen comes along that makes your jaw drop. This is one of those pens. The Soon to be released Karas Kustoms INK is causing some buzz on the internets. The TWSBI 580 Rose Gold edition, eat your heart out. How do I add this to my wish list?
According to Dan Bishop, Karas Kustoms Designer, these are going to be let out into the wild sometime in the very near future.

Beautiful. Is the section on the black one copper as well?

Any info as to the $? Thanks K.I.!

The black one has a brass section. Don't quote me but I think you might be able to chose what type of material you get for the section.

Pricing is to be announced but I suspect they will be coming in under $100.

Thanks! Looks like one to put on the (currently empty) pen list.

I wonder if they wiil be ungodly heavy like their bolt pens? I had one in brass, and fitted for Pilot G-2 ink cartridges, so that doesn't help anything, but still... looks nice, but I don't want hand cramps when I'm writing...

Great looking pens. Is there a place on their website to view these? I can find no mention of it on their site?

Thanks

They are not released yet and this is not an official announcement. Soon, very Soon.

I have the aluminum Bolt and it is much lighter than the brass Bolt. I tried the aluminum INK prototype and it is comparable in weight to the Bolt in aluminum. The brass and copper sections will be towards the bottom as you write so I believe they will be well balanced and just slightly more weighty. Stick with the aluminum version and you don't even have to worry about it.

OMGOMGOMGOMG.

I, for one, love heavy pens. The copper and brass pens they make are fantastic. I really hope they make a solid copper version of their fountain pen.

Based on the differences in price for their cases (for different materials) I'm thinking it'll be:

$90 anodized aluminum

$110 lacquer and aluminum

$130 brass

$130 lacquer and copper (I'm guessing it'll be an aluminum body to keep it balanced)

$200 all-copper

I'm a fan of metal pens, heavy pens, slick/minimal profiles, etc..

As I've already said via other social media, I am chomping at the bit for this thing. All the better that it's also supporting a small company, which I'm going to consider "local," despite the 2,200 mile gap.

I'm also very happy to see that the section flairs back out before the nib, effectively negating the "metal section slippies."

Just heard back from company and the KickStarter for this pen starts on monday.

I cannot confirm or deny anything.

That was one of the things I congratulated Dan on.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
