I feel like I'm finally on a roll and getting through my queue at a decent pace now. :)

 

Here's one I finished just now.

Made from cumberland hard rubber. 5" open.

Customer provided his own gold nib.

That is a really beautiful pen. It's just such a minimalist shape.

 

But I do have to add that every time I see the caption of this thread I wonder what a "Straight Cumberland" is. It sounds like a type of bourbon drink or a card game.

Not enough bling if one thinks "Linda Eastman". A no nonsense Eastman Kodak connotation could work. But the Straight Cumberland is a good name, it DOES make one pause and think a bit.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
