Gorgeous All Star but, still, no Safari.

Is it fair for an intelligent and family oriented mammal to be separated from his/her family and spend his/her life starved in a concrete jail?

Looks like the same pink they had a few years ago. Time for something different, please!

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

Couldnt agree more. Lets hope some one at Lamy puts serious thought into the next colour available.

This pink is now a regular edition Safari.

There two new limited edition colors of LAMY logo M + ballpoint, lime and violet.

It seems that this year, Lamy is announcing every model with special edition colors but the Safari.

I'm hoping it's truly a coral color rather than the pinky hue shown in that link because my collection could use a splashy coral addition.

Like others, I don't want another pink Safari - one is enough for me. And, if it is "coral colored" (whatever color that may be) as is being speculated, I am not sure that an "orangey" pen would suit me, either, I think we will have to wait for an official Lamy announcement, instead of accepting the guessing that other web sites are doing. Maybe there just won't be a 2014 color for the Safari...

lol - well, they probably will, but they sure are taking their sweet time, aren't they? Still hoping for a non-neon color. Really, kids DO like colors that aren't bright and garish, don't they? (I seem to recall that when I was a youngster back when the dinosaurs still roamed, my favorite color was orange....not anymore though.....)

According to one of the pen shops located in Warsaw Lamy Safari colour for 2014 will be Neon Coral.

Yes, that's it. I haven't seen the actual pen yet but apparently its "really bright". If it's anything like the Neon Yellow Safari (last year's special colour) and the new Neon Orange nexx then it will be really bright. Launch will be around mid April but we're going to try to get a sample to photograph.

I'm glad I sold off my Safari collection. Still have a few. I like the variety of colors, but after a while, they're just the same pen in another color. That, and I got light greened and yellowed out from the recent years. Now they're blowing out pink?

*ducks*

I'll still snag one of those blue-green Al-Stars though. That's hot. :headsmack:

I agree. I go through phases though of loving, and putting up with, so many Safaris. I've got four, and now only get the colours I really like, not just because it's the new colour. Thus, I really really really really hope that the 2014 colour is nice, heck even a little sophisticated, not just a hyper colour that will interest 12 year olds (no offence to them).

I like seeing the new annual colors, but honestly, it will take something pretty fantastic to make me buy another Safari or Al-Star. Between ballpoints, FPs and pencils, I think I have my share. For me the best of all is that original, nubby-finish black/graphite color.

I did like that "coffee" Al-Star color they had a few years back - tempted, but didn't bite.

I have the Seafoam Green Al-Star in bp and fp - still one of my favorite colors they came up with...

As pointed out in that post the Safari 2014 color is Neon Coral and it is gorgeous!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
