Those look great! Would it be possible to get a bigger picture, Mr. Ford? The marbling in the design is rather hard to see is why I ask.

Incidentally, here is the picture of the new pens, for everyone to check out:

There is no marbling these are plain polished lacquer.

Since these will be available in time for Christmas (I think that was the target, right?), will there also be versions later- next year perhaps- that are marbled as well? Just thinking of how they would all look in a 5 pen set ^_~

Yes, will think seriously about that.

I hope so! That would be one heck of a set there- the classic black and then all 4 marbled colored versions (or maybe even a 5th one if you ever decide to do another color- a really vibrant purple ^_~)!

I do like the new colors. I was going to put a black on my Christmas list because it has classic looks that I could take to a professional meeting at any level (in addition to its legendary nib qualities). Now I have to choose between the black and the burgundy. They both fill the bill.

The burgundy with new CultPens/Diamine Deep Dark Red ink. Lovely!

There is a red?

Looks like a Green as well. Didn't know about those, thanks.

Mr Ford

Just another quick question. Have you thought about pre-ordering? I'm betting quite a few people on here would welcome the opportunity.

thanks

Yes, we always offer that and usually at 10% discount, but we need factory confirmation of delivery first. Customers do not appreciate us taking orders without an accurate delivery date. MrPen

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
