The nip, lever-fill, and cap all fit perfectly in place. A beautiful mixture of browns and greens help to give this miniature a warm design. :lticaptd:

What a load of old codswallop, these were and are used to ship pens backwards and forwards to service. $15 + $23 shipping :lticaptd:

Go to you local machine shop and ask if they have any freebie cutter cases which are exactly the same but without the Waterman logo.

That's how my Edson is carried,

A BIN of 15 USD and 23.50 P&P for just 1 (one) plastic tube? :yikes: I have about 4 or 5 of these things used by my shop to send me some items. I doubt if these cost more than 25 cts pp wholesale.

Good heavens....

How much have I lost by shipping PIF pens in these things? I guess I had better treat the half dozen I have in my desk like gold.

:lticaptd: Ha, ha, ha. That's a good one. I have a few black Montblanc ones. I wonder what I could get for them. Actually I am planning to send my 146 back for service in one, just so the collection of them doesn't grow when it comes back. But, wait, there's a market! Who knew?

English humor. Perhaps a tad more subtle than we are used to in an America conditioned by the likes of "Dumb and Dumber."

e-i-e-i-o. Dagnabit! Missed out on another splendid opportunity to make another frankenpen.

$43 delivery...for a piece of paper.

Isn't that because of new Ebay-rules that every item must be send with track and trace and all the trim??

And new US mail prices?

I think ebay automatically determinates your country and puts in the appropriate amount.

Then their algorithm is screwy. One of the first things I check is the postage and packing cost. I had assumed that the ridiculous P&P costs were vendors trying to catch the unwary, so I avoid their auctions.

FYI: $50.00 insurance and tracking are now part of your postage cost, you don't have to pay "extra" for these anymore.

  • 2 weeks later...

Typical item from this seller.

Where do they come from, how old and probably dried out if they have not been capped.

Yes, Force, but you've got plenty of them !!!!! :P

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
