I'll also be joining you guys and girls in Tilburg. Probably without my wallet, cause Dennis is offering way too many interesting pens.

Hope to see at least some of you tomorrow!

I will be carrying an FPN logo in the form of a folded piece of FPN paper, with the FPN logo sticking out of my shirt pocket :).

Warm regards, Wim

Great fun, the show. It was really nice to meet a bunch of FPNers. Pity I couldn't get there till fairly late, but I must say had a wonderful time, discussing pens with all.

I was planning on taking a lot of photographs, but I was getting so involved with the different discussions, that I completely forgot to do so.

Would anybody want to share any pictures? I would love to see them!

Thanking you in advance!

Warmest regards, Wim

Hello,

it was realy a nice pen show with good old and new pens and accessories.

We visited it the first time.

It is not as large as other well known pen shows, but I think the quality is important and not

the dimension.

In a very nice cafeteria you could try beside coffee and cookies your acuirements.

If it will continued next year, we will be there.

And......new pens leave The Netherlands together with us..:-)

Thanks to Dennis from La Couronne du Comte!

Thanks.

I would have loved seeing more brands representation. I have seen good coverage from Kaweco, and Platinum was there.

Visconti was represented bij La Couronne du Comte with some sumgay offers...

Very excited to go there. It's going to be my first pen show.

I do hope you realise you are posting in last years topic.

This year the show will be in a few hours already, on Saturday 27th starting at 11.00

Well no. I didn't expect this to be on the top of the search result when looking for tilburg pennshow. Didn't check the date of the posts either so that's how it came to be.

But I was able to attend this years show today, instead of last years… :-)

Cheers,

Zoran

If anyone going to the Tilburg Show this weekend sees an Anglo Special fountain pen I would be most interested.

They are generally a smallish, non descript pen about 120 mm long. So far I have only seen them in black, but there might be other colours. As far as I know they were sold in Holland and possibly Belgium early post war.

Living in hope! Peter

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
