6-Slot Pen Cases

The one I know about is the Penvelope 6 by Franklin Christoph, and I am wavering as to whether to buy one now for a trip I have soon so I can carry *six* fountain pens with me instead of *four* (my current case), but are there others I should be considering? I'm currently using a cheaper case I bought off eBay, but I've been pretty pleased with it other than longing for more capacity. The largest pens I'd be carrying are a Nakaya Naka-ai and an Edison Pearl.

There used to be one made by Ashton that is wonderful. A little pricy, but good case! I got mine from Goulet's not currently on their site? You could look other places or see if Goulet's can get it for you.

I have the Franklin Christoph (6 and 13) Penvelopes and love them. Not only are they beautifully made pieces, they also do a terrific job of protecting the pens. The size of each compartment is generous - easily holding my Waterman Edsons and MB 149 with no bumping or rubbing next to their neighbors.

Here's a look at mine on my blog http://pentulant.blogspot.com/2013/05/review-penvelope-13-from-franklin.html

That said, they are $$$ - if that's an issue for you, I'm sure a less expensive solution would work. Heck, I've even rolled my pens in a soft shirt for travel and while that's not very elegant, it definitely worked.

Aston Leather makes a lovely leather 6 pen case. It's lined in a soft velvet type fabric and has six sets of pen loops that easily handle my Pelikan 800 and Townsend sized pens. My case is tan but they also have brown and I think black also. I bought it a couple of years ago from an internet source called Wayfair and the best I can remember is that it cost about $75.00. Good luck, vinper

Visconti makes gorgeous/well made cases. I have the three pen version that I use for work; black, blue-black and red inked pens. Highly recommended. I will be picking up a 6 pen version when back in stock. Ashton is also highly recommended, I have their 40 pen leather case.

Thank you all for the options! I ended up ordering a Penvelope 6 after all. Pentulant, your review was what pushed me over. :)

Very nice. I hope you love it. (And if you don't - still speak kindly of me. Haha)

My Penvelope 6 arrived! Mine is in Boot Black, and it fits all my current-use pens (smallest two are a Webster Four-Star and a Sailor HighAce Neo, largest is a Nakaya Naka-ai) very comfortably. The one pen I own that I wouldn't stick in it is a clipless Waterman 52V, which I think would just get lost in the ginormous slot, and which I'm probably going to continue to carry in a rather smaller two-pen leather case I have lying around. But the Penvelope's magnetic closure is very nifty. And hey, happy leather smell. :)

Hi all,

Is anyone aware of anywhere in the UK that sells Aston Leather pen cases or a US retailer with reasonable international shipping?

Thanks.

Glad you're getting this - don't think you'll be disappointed. I'm still loving mine.

Superb looking. I think the "Lucky 13" saves money, because once you have a "6" your will want another.

This point is exactly my hesitation. I have eight pens currently, with five of them inked, but I can easily see wanting to carry more than six pens with me. Any enablers--er, more experienced hands want to weigh in?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
