Wality 69A

Hello friends ..

This is my first review .

After observing photos of Wality 69A by our great FPN member Hari 317 , I have succeeded to get couple of Wality 69A from a dealer in Pune,Maharashtra,India.

1. Barrel , cap & clip : Cap and barrel totally turned on a lathe machine having a smooth feel in hand. Clip is as usual fitted on all Wality pens having good spring tension.

2. Filling : Eyedropper filled , I found threads more precisely cut & having good fit between internal and external threads. That results in no blobbing like other eyedroppers.

3. Nib : Fine nib , but more smooth than regular 69TL transparent barrel pen.

4.Price : Slightly higher than 69TL : 270 INR .

Conclusion : Best pen ever produced by Wality . Enjoy good looks as well as huge ink capacity.

I apologize for photo of 69A with some Devanagari script written by me, as it is taken using my cellphone only.

Regards ,

Nice looking pen! How much is 270 INR in Euros or USD? Does this pen have an O ring to seal against leaks? What is the avaiability of other nibs - M, B, OB, flex. Italic?

Thanks for your reply ..

270 INR means 6 USD approx.

This pen is not having O ring seal. But threads are manufactured in very close tolerance.

Even with very less ink level in barrel , there is no blobbing. Consistent ink flow .

Presently only fine nib available.

These are wonderful pens, aren't they? Not only is the acrylic beautiful, but the writing experience is excellent. Congratulations on your white/green example--it looks great.

I've quite a few Indian eyedroppers, and a bit of silicon grease has been enough to prevent leaks from where the section and barrel meet on all of them (at least so far). The only leak I can recall (apart from the typical eyedropper burps) from any Indian pen is leaks from the front of the section on Serwex pens, which also could be fixed with silicon grease.

  • 6 years later...

I recently ordered the Wality 69A off of eBay for $25 including $&H.

Really looking forward to it's arrival.

BTW, your review was a big part of my decision to purchase it😁

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
