Thanks again to cool-japan on ebay, who has supplied me with a lot of amazing Kobe inks. :D

This is yet another of the Kobe reds I've tried that is an all around great ink, but that just isn't suited to my personal colour preferences. For reasons I cannot explain, I do not have a fondness for red inks with a bricky/brownish undertone, like Diamine Oxblood.

This ink *almost* made it by, as the bricky-ness wasn't too over the top, and the shading was nice. And of course, who can say no to sheen? It looks great on all papers ...

Overall, if you like complicated red-browns, this ink is for you. :)

Sometimes I like inks in this family and sometimes I don't. I'm liking the look of Kounan Maroon, but Diamine Amaranth, for example, left me completely underwhelmed.

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

It has nice shading. Thank you for the review.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
