This is extremely unfair. I JUST completed my fountain pen life-time wishlist, and now I have to re-do the whole darn thing to add this future pen. WHY must companies torture me this way???

Uh. Is this ever going to happen? I really like the pen, but its not looking like it's coming out anytime soon is it?

TWSBI has a history with delaying announced products, or - to but it more correctly: a long waiting time between the announcement and the actual release date. The good thing is you know that such a pen does come, the downside is you loose interest with time.

It has only been told that such a pen will come, but not when.

Greetings,

Michael

On their facebook page, TWSBI mentioned that due to possible problems with rotring, there probably wouldn't be a red rings version, most likely.

I just ordered a Vac 700. But I am really very interested in the new models... Although I would like to see something that is not the "typical" demonstrator.

We can have funny colors, or more classic for business. I love my Twsbi pens but I want something different!

The Classic will be opaque. It seems quite a few people wanted the same thing- a non demonstrator version of the 580 (essentially). So iirc, it should be ready in time for the holidays, if TWSBI meets their own timetable predictions, lol.

I emailed Mr. Wang about this a few days ago. His reply was that there is no exact date for release of the mini vac but that he's shooting for the middle of the year.

Well, I just received the Goulet newsletter and it looks like they're definitely stocking up on them whenever it arrives this year. So at least I know where to look once this is released! Should be quite a nifty pen.

Will the mini vac come with red o-rings eventually?

Oh, and is the regular mini going to be released in other colors too?

White color seems to suit the pen design.

I asked a question about the status of the minivac on Facebook yesterday. This was the reply that was posted: "almost ready....gone quiet so we can concentrate on finishing it. Testing many different kinds of materials to make it. Will finalize and produce soon."

Oh that's nice. Thanks.

To be honest, I don't really care for the filling mechanism. It's the color combo that I find interesting.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
