Pen Wrap

I really like the fuller pen wraps, but I figured I also needed a quick sleeve to carry just a couple of pens. I wanted it to hold two pens but with separate pockets for each and a strap that would be really fast and easy to use. I finally decided on a strap that snapped in back. So far, I'm really happy with this design!

Daisy, you are one talented seamstress  Have you thought of selling some of these beautiful pen wraps in Classifieds?

Daisy, I think I'm pretty picky about pen wraps and sleeves and I think those are Very Nice.

You didn't mention it, but a plus would be if they were at least hand washable for When the inevitable inkcident occurs.

I am actually selling them on my Etsy shop, DaisyFair. Am I allowed to link to that here? Hoping I am not making a faux pas, here's the link: https://www.etsy.com/shop/DaisyFair

I hadn't really thought about doing classifieds, but there's a thought.

Inevitable inkcident? Say it isn't so!

That said, these are made of linen and cotton fabrics with some fusible fleece (for a little padding), interfacing, and a snap. Not only are they hand washable, I think they would go through the wash just fine as well.

Thanks for the kind comments!

As a general rule I do since it can be such a pain to ship overseas anymore (thank you, USPostal). I make exceptions though, so feel free to ask.

To anyone considering one of Daisy25's wraps, I'd like to give an endorsement, not only of their beauty and quality, but also of her willingness to work with you.

A few weeks ago I worked with her to design a wrap. The fabric combos she had listed just didn't do it for me, so she worked with me to make a new one out of fabrics she had. I love the wrap, and since I got it, it's the only pen transport I've used.

Right now she's making a custom order for me out of some "Firefly" themed fabrics that I sent to her.

The quality is excellent, especially considering the great value.

Daisy25 - it's ok to post a link to your Etsy shop in reply to my question. You could also post the link in your signature like TMLee (the post above) has done with his journals

Those are nice. The price seems right too. So many I have seen have been overpriced.

  • 2 weeks later...

For those interested in the pen wraps, I just listed one to give away in the Pay It Forward thread:

https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/236374-pay-it-forward-2013/page-40

As an add-on to one of my earlier comments: the wraps I'm making of pure cotton are washable; I'm not as sure about those made of ultra-suede. It would certainly be possible to wipe them off but I don't know yet how stable the dies are for a full out wash. I'll have to check that out some time.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
