Exactly!!!! A man cave with a large desk, a comfortable chair, lots of paper & bottles of ink...and last but not least...some good soundproof earplugs.

I don't see any food crumbs or drink glass rings. Do you sit around a table full of
fountain pens, in your underwear all day ? No.

I hope to meet some fountain-pen-friendly women, here at FPN. Someone with a gentle
writing spirit and an understanding heart. A woman who will . . . . . . .

Is that homemade soup and fresh bread ? Boy, I have a great collection of wives !

A man cave is one room in the house where the man is the boss and he can relax.

The woman cave is the rest of the house. Sometimes also including the man cave.
Please call me Nathan. It is a pleasure to meet you.

That maybe so in your house; in our house we don't have a "boss of the house" or roles defined by gender.

Neither in mine...it's 50/50. It's me who is messy with my stuff...my wife is right, actually. I'm just being tongue-in-cheek.

It's always fun to take everything out & write/practice. Within a couple of hours, I have a mess like in the photo. And it's not NEARLY as enjoyable to clean all that mess up as it was to take it all out.

I do wish I had a room that I could set up to pens, penmanship, and related. Would be nice to walk in and everything is already "out", and when I finished or took a break, I could simply cover my ink, clean my pen, and close the door. Would that not be close to heaven-on-earth???

Correct: what is often considered messy may be just lack of space. Modern homes are woman-centric in that they represent both the functionality and aesthetics of a household under the care of a woman. Men often escape to shacks and garden sheds but those don't agree with fountain pens and inks. A man needs a den with a large desk and lots of storage space.

Yes, we need our own sciptorium. A place to set out all our books, paper, inks, pens, instructional DVD's, works-in-progress, letters, completed framed projects, etc. Not to mention...a large well-lit place in which to write. And a computer or ipad to visit FPN, shop the ebay and classifieds, and look for new ideas and inspirations.

Hmmmmm...that sounds an awful lot like a batchelor pad for a pen-a-holic doesn't it? Maybe it's time that I confront the issue and admit...I have a problem? LOL

you're lucky to have a woman telling you to clean up. One of the unfortunate habits of being single is that my place is always messy.
