Looks very nice

What nib unit did you use? It appears to be shorter than the #5 Bock units that I've been playing with, I don't think I could get the section to be as short as the one you made.

I had trouble threading the section to receive the nib unit on the first one I made, so I did it over using a different approach that seems to work better.

I found that I have to drill all the holes (and tap) from the nose end of the section so everything is perfectly concentric. The first one, I drilled the hole that would later be tapped to receive the nib unit threads from the rear, then flipped it around in the collet chuck and drilled again from the nose. Something must have been off by a smidgin, the unit would slide in perfectly but wouldn't screw into place.

Very good! I'm amazed with the amount of new first kitless attempts by people lately, I'm more amazed with how good they look... yeesh, not sure if I have the skill to make a kit pen look this good, let alone a kitless.
I started nowhere, ended up back there. I caught a fever and it burned up my blood. It was a pity, I left the city; I did me some travelin' but it's done me no good. - Buffalo Clover "The Ruse"
