I always buy myself a watch for my birthday. Sometimes it's extravagant, sometimes it's a G-Shock. It's always a watch though. Well, this year it's my 40th birthday and after looking in the watchbox(es) and deciding I may have all the watches one man could ever want, I decided to get a pen instead. I went to my local boutique, played with everything, and ordered a pen I've been looking at for quite some time. Here's a few photos of my new Montblanc Meisterstuck 149 BB. I love it! It's not my birthday quite yet but the local boutique will be closed and gone by the time my birthday rolls around so I decided to pick it up a bit early.

I also picked up some Legend cologne, it smells pretty darn good.

Nice pen and nice watch.

I like your choice of nib - the BB's i have seen previously always seemed slightly stubbish, and it suits your very clear handwriting.

That is Montblanc Winter Glow ink. It dries slightly darker than the first photo and has nice shading.

Don't you think the Rolex is a bit extravagent ? Imaging how many fountain
pen you could have instead.

For the beautiful Mb 149, I accept full blame. Thanks for the pix.

Glad to accept full blame! We are a big bunch of enablers! Man I wish I was into pens when I turned 40 I went out instead and blew my cash on a '95 Mustang GT! Just think of the pens I could have had! Luckily by my 50th I was a pen addict so I bought myself a nice pen instead!

Merry Christmas
