I have a Swank brnaded twist action ballpoint that was given to me in 1962. (I also have the matching mechanical pencil.) They are both a little heftier and nicer in the hand than the common Cross instruments, but the pen will not take Cross refills. The refills it came with came from Garland Industries in Coventry, R. I. They have a female threaded cap that fits over male threads on the twist action mechanism inside the pen, opposite to the Cross male threaded refill. Also, the tips of the pen and the refill are slimmer than the Cross. Garland Pen and the current Swank company claim no knowledge of either the pen.
Does anyone know of these, have any, or know of an adaptation that could be used to retrofit currently available supplies?
