La Couronne Du Comte (Nl)

I want to recommend the penshop La Couronne du Comte. They have a great webshop (www.lacouronneducomte.nl ) as well as B&M in Tilburg, The Netherlands.

Had bought a Waterman Edson NOS from another country and decided to go for another nib.

Although the pen is not bought in the shop they take care of all the hassle (forms, sending back and forth). Where do you find service like this?

Recommended!

(Just a very happy customer).

Agreed.

The store is wonderful, the website is very good, and the service is superb. Dennis van de Graaf is terrific to deal with. This is one classy outfit.

Thanks. I have been looking for a good dealer in Europe.

They have good prices and great selection.

For US buyers, register for the site. The prices displayed include VAT, but if you register they will show the prices without the VAT.

They are having a moving sale, alot of ballpoints, but they do have a few fountain pen steals.

Your life really starts when you buy your first Dupont fountain pen; so stop aimlessly wandering through life and buy a Dupont!

I visited the store Friday for the first time. Every item on my list (Sailor limited edition ink and other)was available. The Pelikan ink Turqoise was only available in the bigger bottle... so: I got the big slosh for the price of the small bottle. Mr. de Graaf is very nice, friendly and no effort is too much. (His tea got cold after he helped me through all my inquiries.)

The shop is small and cramped with high class pens. The owner told me the shop is moving soon to a bigger shop nearby.

Talking passionately to a complete stranger next to me about being a FP-junky it turned out to be a well respected FPN member:WIMG! B) ......In the flesh, from Maastricht.

This made my visit to the shop even more fun.

So, if you visit the store, keep your eyes open for other FPN-members. Could just stand next to you :P

I ordered a hardcase pen-etui for 4 pens in my favorit color turquoise and its going to be hand made for me on order.

Prices are really good, but more important is the impressive assortment. And he's going to sell Noodlers in the future. :cloud9:

(no affiliation, just a happy customer)

A niggle about La Couronne Du Comte. Ordered something from their website for the first time, and they've taken payment despite the item not being in stock.

I think I'll email them in future about stock/availability before placing any further orders.

Sadly, they did this when I placed an ink order too. They refunded the money when the stock didn't come in, but by then it was a few weeks later and the conversion rate had changed so I actually got back less than I had paid and had nothing to show for it.

I appreciate they're a small business, but it would be nice if they could update their website to note which items are out of stock

I'll see if I can source the pen from somewhere else, although bizarrely the pen (Delta Unica) doesn't seem to be as widely available in Europe as it does in America.

An update. Cancelled the Delta Unica order and was refunded very quickly. Placed a new order for a Visconti Rembrandt and received the pen in the UK from the Netherlands in two days, wrapped beautifully.

Pen itself wrote beautifully, and had blue ink residue in it, tested by La Couronne before sending out I guess ?

In short, would definitely buy from again

I've bought quite a lot of ink from them in the past. Communication is great and they ship very fast. I recently ordered one measly bottle of ink and it arrived all wrapped up in textured green Christmas wrapping.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
