Hello All

From the past few days I am extremely curious about Franklin-Christoph pens.

Because there is a great possibility that one of its beautiful pen could be my next pen.

All I have heard is about the model 65 and 66 from the people but when I visited there website

I found that they create bunch of other beautiful pens too.

Then why does the two models 65 and 66 are so popular among the buyers in the market, even if we

have got such a decent range to choose from?

Anyway which pen would you suggest and why?

piece of mind. Those who don't wanna reply atlest cast a vote!

I definitely need more than 6 votes to choose a pen because I am damn

serious about the FC Pens. And definitely by the end of the next week

I am gonna order my FC pen.

So common everybody express yourself . clap1.gif

I have no experience with models 65/66. I do have model 29 bellus, and strongly recommend it. This pen is a very nice combination of form, function, sturdiness and reliability. I bought the pen in September. Since then, it has traveled with me around the world in planes, trains, bikes and cars, in all kinds of weather. Not once has there been a problem.

I love my 66 xf gold nib. And I recently bought the leather 24 pen case too, which I also really like!

I have a Model 27 with a needlepoint nib (by Mike Masuyama per their website). While it's a modestly priced pen I must say it performs admirably. The brass body gives it great heft. Mine is black chrome and looks quite sharp. Label me very pleased!

Cheers,

NM

A Model 65 XF is on it's way as I write this. I look forward to the Model 40 Panther when it becomes available. Great American company.

Actually this was the specific model because of which I started the conversation.

Everybody posts only about the 65 and 66 models but they've got some awesome other pens too.

The pens look beautiful who expect such awesome designs within hundred dollars.

Could you please explain to us more specifically about the model you own.

And I was curious to know which nib do you have in your model the steel one or the gold one.

I've got a steel version of the m29 Bellus. It's a nice nib--a smooth nail. The pen itself is really lovely. I like the twist off magnetic cap and it feels incredibly sturdy. The only thing I'd say (and I'm hesitant to say anything bad about F-C at all--they are a truly awesome company) is that I don't know how the pen works posted. It's a heavy pen to begin with (something I like a lot) but it becomes a little top heavy when posted. My hands are small enough that writing with it unposted works perfect for me. Other than that idiosyncrasy (which isn't a flaw or problem), I love the pen and their service is simply amazing.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, the etching on the section looks even better in person. Really a nice looking pen.

UD you are the reason for my interest in these pens.

And as Andrew Thomas has suggested model 29 bellus how

would you compare your model with his model?

And AT please you too share your views comparing your one

with UD's suggested models.

So you solved the transportation issue too by buying a pen case. thumbup.gif

Could please please share any kind of problems with the gold nib

or with the pen. Please share if any!

What differences would it make to you if you had a regular nib

in your pen. In other words how much effective is the needle point in terms

of ink flow and smoothness as compared to other nibs?

I don't have any Franklin-Christoph pens, but I've been eyeing the Model 29 and Model 66.

The Model 66 Desk Pen caught my fancy due to its size and simple design while the Model 29 has an interesting twist magnet cap.

Same with me, my eyes too got stuck on model 29's magnetic cap

and the unique design of model 66.

I have a 29, medium stub. 100% happy with it. Well constructed, very nice nib, smooth writing, and free delivery to Chile

I have just bought another one (model 27, broad stub), but it is still on its way

Gold nib or steel one? As discussed above doesn't the pen

becomes a bit heavy after posting?

Have the M14 with medium italic nib, excellent writer.

The 66 has my attention at the moment.

Just a note with any magnetic closures on a pen, be very careful whent storing near to and never on top of a credit card / Starbucks card (don't ask).

I own the Model 02 Intrinsic in Fine steel nib...I love the pen! I would really like to have the Model 19 "1901" and/or the Model 27 Collegia. When used as eye droppers they hold gobs of ink and I have never had the Intrinsic throw-up once.

I suspect the reason there has been so much talk lately about the 65 and 66 is that they're new! There are some other fairly new ones, but I believe all of them are developments of earlier models.

The one I'm most interested in is certainly the 25.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
