Sorry to dig up this old topic, just wanted to thank the OP for sharing his recipe over here. I had seen this recipe a few months ago and wanted to try it, but then it skipped my mind as I got busy with some travelling. Today when I went to the supermarket and saw a lady inspecting a small pack of saffron, I was reminded about this all over again. I bought a small pack (0.5 gm) of saffron and proceeded to dip my toes into the world of ink making. Here's the result, you be the judge how good or bad it has turned out to be:
