Noodler's Ebonite Konrad

I kinda feel like a bad person for saying it, but the colors on the ripple pens don't really do it for me. The one thing that has struck me about the color of my mottled green is- and this is probably one of the most ridiculous reasons to love a pen- because it's straight up Master Chief green.

They in the sea being burnt, they in the burnt ship drown'd."

Yep..I was watching all day for the red ripples to go on sale, snagged on to compare with my regular Konrad. Wonder how many they had because they sure sold out quick!

*sigh

I was watching all night, but finally fell asleep in that crucial hour before dawn when they actually were released.

Sold out in 15 minutes? No chance.

Oh well.

Isellpens.com indicates having some olive ripples still available... Plus Goulet says there are more on the way to them.

YIKES!! .....they're gone!

Goulet and ISellPens are all sold out. And to think I was gonna put off buying one until today or even later. (shudder) Fortunately, mine shipped 0011 hrs this morning (how does he do that!?).

I can find no more sources online, unless there might be some on ebay ala pen scalpers. Looks like we're the guinea pigs, gang! ;)

Heh heh, you should've seen me the day the Goulets released them. Can't tell you how many times I clicked the reload button. :roflmho:

Many more coming!!

We will be shipping many more over the next several weeks.

Red Ripples?

Really?

So they're not old rod stock hidden away for the end of the world?

(:))

-=-=-=-

If this is so, then there's a storm a'comin. Take heed, one and all!

A storm to put the Creaper flex and Ahab releases (combined!) to shame.

It will be of such magnitude that it might just rip a hole in the fabric of the internet itself.

I hope Mr.Noodler's realises what he has set into motion; for himself, for us, and more importantly for the servers of those poor retailers that shall be on the front lines! (think of the servers! The bandwidth! Oh the humanity!)

I ordered a molted green one before Isellpens sold out also. Can't wait to give it a try with the 54th Massachusetts ink I bought along with it.

I would love to see some pictures of the rippled pens. I hope to snag one of the red ones when they come up again.

I was late to the party for the rippled pens and now the Goulet website isn't even showing the ebonite Konrads anymore. Were these a limited run? I thought this was the most appealing Noodler pen. It'd be a shame if they didn't make any more.

I see them both as well. I want to see how good the red ripple looks compared to a Waterman's 52 red ripple. Plus I've been itching for a ebonite Konrad, but tight on money lately.

Once mine arrives tomorrow I'll have pictures of the two up in this thread. :)

mhphoto, I appreciate your feedback and I hope you don't mind me appending your post with my thoughts on the new olive ripple Konrad that arrived to me from Goulet today... Same link as yours, second post.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
