@inkwritingman:

Thank you for the glowing review. We're glad you like the book and stoked you went ahead to share the joy on the web. Love the pictures. Feel free to spread the word!

@Newjelan:

Yes, we ship outside of Europe. Virtually anywhere you want us to, really. As long as you don't mind the shipping costs ;-)

Cheers from Frankfurt, Germany

Carlos

PS:

Not to bore you with marketing speak but all our books are 100% made in Germany. We think that's quite noteworthy.

Thanks, the paper looks great, sadly shipping costs look prohibitive. crybaby.gifMay need to stick with Leuchtturm and Rhodia.

yes, these notebooks look very cool, how much do the nuuna studio XL notebooks typically weigh? Because the shipping on DHL is by weight so, who knows me and Newjelen might be able to do a combined order :P then one of us can either auspost it to the other or just meet in person if we're close enough.

120gsm paper.... makes me lick my lips

Interesting in that the cover designs often have English language text. I was totally enamored of the"Oxford Circus" cover for completely bizarre personal reasons that actually don't have any relevance to anyone else, and are also really only marginally related to the design itself... (where's a sheepish shrug smiley .gif when you need one :rolleyes:).

Maybe we can prevail on some of the US based-companies to look into stocking some of these.... Is there a US distributor?

ETA: I didn't look at the website that carefully -- is there any sort of choice of lined/unlined/dot/graph paper? I like the larger page capacity of the one the OP has, but for journalling I tend to like unlined pages when I can get them (which isn't, unfortunately, all that often).

Hi everyone,

thank you all for your interest in our notebooks. Very excited to see our "baby" receive such a warm welcome. I'll gladly answer any questions you have.

@iamchum: Our books are cool alright but so is your avatar if I might add! A Studio XL weighs in at about 960g. Yes, that is quite a lot of book and I'm afraid Australia is indeed not the cheapest of shipping destinations from Germany. But as you pointed out if you were to combine an order with some friends the costs would quickly become more bearable indeed as for example the shipping costs for five Studio XL are the same as for one. And meeting in Melbourne for coffee and a book exchange? Now how cool is that? Send a postcard!

@inkstainedruth: Glad you like the designs. They are all silk screen printed. We aim to make Nuuna as widely available as possible but there is no distributor for Nuuna within the US as of now. This will hopefully change soon. We just launched Nuuna and we are still looking for partners and distributors all across the globe. We already touched down in Chile for instance ;-)

As for grid options: The Punks (hellooo, colour edging!) and Studios are blank. You might like the smaller Studio M for journaling. Lines can be found within the Mixtape. However most of the books have dotted grids because we feel they provide the best of both worlds – plenty of freedom to scribble and draw as well as enough structure to write.

Cheers,

Carlos

@ Carlos_at_Nuuna NICE site !!!

You find a US distributer where shipping wont be an issue and you might find a lot of paper hounds are here in the states jumping on your notebooks.

Your products look really great and I will find a way to try it lol :thumbup:

Agreed! Come spring and a (hopefully) more stable financial situation, I have to get my hands on one of these...

I can recommend them very much. Munken Paper makes outstanding paper for fountain pens!

Want one so much!

They're a little out of my price range (especially when you add shipping) but I need one of these in my life!

You're in Frankfurt, you can just walk in their shop (brandbook.de - no affiliation) and look at a great range of wonderful notebooks. Fantastic paper, lovely design. I can highly recommend them.

Would like to try, but even being in euro zone 1 the shipping costs exceeds the cost of the journal...will have to pass until they use cheaper options ;/ Pity, was getting a bit bored of my Rhodia. Do you have other resellers within the EU zone?

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
