I received a unique fountain pen that is made Amboyna Burl and yet it is an eyedropper filler.
This unique pen has been created by Shawn Newton.

Wood or burl would absorb ink and the ink may even seep out of the barrel surface. Shawn has a solution to prevent the ink seepage.

The pen is very beautiful and the burl surface polishing is super smooth.

I do not know whether anyone else has a wood pen that fills with eyedropper. Would like to know.

The size is bigger than Montblanc 149 and very easy to write with. The nib is Jowo#6 - interchangeable type. I have 2 nibs one 18K broad and the other steel italic broad.

Thanks for posting your thoughts, Mr. Biswas! :D
I'm so pleased that you're happy with the pen.

Nice work Shawn. Did you line the barrel with plastic?

That's a beauty - I seem to find myself spending more and more time in this subforum - I like the pens you guys are making far more than the commercially available ones! :)

Thanks!

For this one I tried something different and it worked out far better than I expected. I drilled the wood blanks out and sent them off to a friend to fill with an acrylic resin. The resin bonded directly to the wood - no epoxy needed - so all I had to do was drill and turn like normal.

:)

That's a brilliant solution.
