Fpn Inks - Ready For Ordering

We got about 8" of snow in only 1 night. That's a lot for our area. Last time we had a really bad ice storm and power was out in some spots for a couple weeks. That was in 2000. We stayed with my grandfather in his apartment - only a 1/2 mile from where I'm at now - right next to the hospital. :)

My VGSNB and GB (Galileo Brown) arrived yesterday intact (I would be surprised if there was any problem with Shawn's excellent packaging!)... I am so busy writing since yesterday.... Definitely my favorite blue-black and GB looks great, especially on ivory paper! I am a happy puppy!

One question: do you think the GB bottle should be vigorously shaken before inking, due to the cellulose-bonding ingredient it contains? Or it does not matter?

I wish a happy new year to all,

Aris

I shake the brown before filling a pen b/c parts of it do settle. You can see that at the bottom if you let the bottle sit a couple days. There are lots of inks that need shaking though, Noodler's and Diamine, and others I'm sure...

My bottle of Galileo Manuscript Brown arrived today, after a safe ocean passage. The first pen that gets this ink will be my Visconti Homo Sapiens.

Thank you Shawn, Wim and Nathan

I put in an order just yesterday, hopefully I didn't miss the boat. I'm sure it'll be quite late in January before I can expect anything though. Hopefully there's enough demand for the 4.5oz that this round will have those too. :)

I agree with Wim when he said you need to put that VGSN in a pen that will do it justice.....

The colour gradient is lovely coming out of the flex of my blue FPN 2011 LE Stipula Modello T!

I have craved this ink since I acquired that pen. Worth the wait. wink.gif

I should have gotten 2 bottles of this alone....I can use it at work and for casual correspondence. cloud9.gif

I just love FPN....really I do.wub.gif

Hello,

I've sent several e-mails trying to order 3 bottles of the Galileo Manuscript Brown.

I've not received an invoice as of yet. I realize you folks are all doing this on your own so I don't want to seem pushy. I was just wondering if the ink is still available and if so what the shipping would be.

Thanks

Denny

I'm also looking for an update on mine: Invoice #1085. If someone could PM me the status on it that would be great.

I opted to wait for GMB to be restocked before my order was to be shipped (and after I made payment). Any ETA on having GMB in stock? Thanks!

My advice after using GMB for a few days: get the 4.5oz bottle.

Did that!

Now I'm hoping there are 4.5 oz bottles of Tulipe noire!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
