Hello, I'm new in this and just bought a Cross Bailey pen, abut I'm wondering why is not in the cross.com page

I was reading some post about this kind of pen, but I just want to know if it is a genuine cross pen.

Thank you

Hi, I've just bought the same pen but in black with chrome/alu trim.

It is a Cross pen, but there are two ranges, the pens on the official site, which are the ones stocked by Cross dealers, and there is a range which are different in detail or colours, but are stocked by stationer's shops, office supplier's etc, but who are not official dealers, (maybe will be one day?).

I have some of both, the quality and guarantee are the same, you should have found the folded up paper instruction sheet in the box, with service centre details, one or two black cartridges etc.

I bought my 'Bailey' from a Cross dealer in the high street in the UK, and posted some photos in this thread; 'New Cross Bailey', only a couple of subjects down the main Cross page.

I could have bought the pen in chrome and 'gold' trim from the same dealer.

One thing you might find is that the cap will not stay on when writing, but as it's all (brass?) metal pen it's heavy enough to use without it. I think it's a really good-looking pen, and I do know it shares the same nib and feeder as the 'Aventura' pen, and takes the Orange Cross converter, same as Century 2 pen. (I have those two and have tested converters for fit, 'Bailey' takes orange, 'Aventura' takes green.)

It's genuine. The dealers have different models than the website. I happened to see that pen in my Staples today; its part of the new releases.

Cross had this on their website as a closeout a couple of months ago so it is a genuine Cross.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
