Cool, I might be able to make this one! If there will be singing, I will bring my microphones, which will likely discourage the singing...hmmm.

I have a lot of new in-the-wild finds to show off and possibly some vintage Sheaffer ink (I have a line on one of those mongo bottles).

And what is this about meat...chips...?!

Is this meeting open to other pen people? If so do you need

and RSVP?

Thank you

Just show up.

The Pen Posse is made up of whoever shows up. If we post a time and a place just show up. And if you want to have a Pen Posse, just post a time and a place. That's how it works.

Now that it's on a Sunday, there's a chance that I can make it. Don't know for sure, though... it is a long drive.

It's unofficial (nothing with the Pen Posse is ever official). All pen plagued people are welcome.

My home is located on the Sacramento River in West Sacramento. Warning: if you use a GPS it will send you to strange places and you will not find the gate entrance. Directions will be posted here later. Email or call for gate code, Ricky will also send out on Facebook.

Will set up the long banquet tables this time!

Pens, ink, lots of food ( of course grilled meat chips), beverages, and really bad singing. :yikes:

Not so much aluminum in those tubes anymore. Think of it as a sausage.

Doug, just remember: if you want people to leave, don't put out more food.

What great hosts you & your wife are! I'm so looking forward to this gathering and your terrific hospitality.

Lisa: remember, if there's singing you need makeup and costumes to enhance the effect. I *still* think "This is a Pen" should be our Pen Posse song.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
