Got lucky a couple of days ago: right place, right time. Picked up a NOS Cross Townsend. Mint condition, Medium nib.

Writes like a dream, excellent ink flow, very very smooth. Heft is very nice, writes best uncapped.

Townsends are among my favourites (I have six) although I would shy from the red colour.

How much if I may ask? And where?
Enjoy your pens

Thanks Carl

Got your PM.
Tha price seems OK, I got I have 6,
A Tango (black body Stering silver cap)
A Custom (black body rolled gold cap)
A Sterling Silver
A Medalist (Chrome with gold accents)
A 10K rolled gold
and
A Lapis Lazuli

The first five all cost me $100 or less on sales (range 87-100, plus postage).
The 10K and Custom have 14K gold nibs and the rest have SS nibs.
The Lapis Lazuli with 14K nib was also a a steel at under $250 on sale.
Only the 10K was a used pen, all others were new.

Some here too would not mention the price, but most would post the price for asking if they got a good deal, or for simply showing off when they get super deal, all friendly like, in a light hearted manner. Those who do not want to show of will still give you a rounded figure of the current market price even if they do not tell how much they paid, just so every body has an idea of the general trends in prices. Basically each one helping out the others in making good decisions when buying - as friends should.

I have been a Cross fan for many many years. My grandma bought me a Cross pen when I was 14, and I still use it often. A couple of 14K pen and pencil sets. I was an engineer and always had a pen & pencil in the pocket protector. And I carry a pen & pencil set whenever I fly.

Then 7 years ago the move into fountain pens, with a Century. Last year I found an 18k Townsend, quite beautiful. And now this dark red marble Townsend which I don't "need" but just couldn't resist.

Cheers,

Carl

Nice score. I like mine (in gold plate). Writes smoothly, reliable, a real tank.
