Remake Of The Visconti Skeleton

Bryant

Recommended Posts

So, I had posted this topic earlier this year...

http://www.fountainp..._1#entry2351786

And after lots of planning its going to happen. Im pretty excited about it.

There will be 4 versions of the pen.

1. Shiny Sterling Silver and Clear-22 pens worldwide

2. Shiny Rose Gold Vermeil and Clear-22 pens worldwide

3. Carbon Fiber and Clear-22 pens worldwide

4. Alutec, simliar to Carbon Fiber, but with Aluminum, so kind of like Aluminum fiber. (the picture shown is the not the design of the Skeleton, its just an example of the material. This one will be 88 pens worldwide.

There will also be Numbered traveling inkwells to match. So the inkwell will have the same kind of overlay.

They will be exactly like the original Skeleton. Im told they will be tweaking the indeeds a bit as the DBL reservoir Power filler has been upgraded a bit since this pen. But shape wise it will be the same. And the nib will be Palladium instead of the original 18k.

Here is a pic of the Alutec, I hope to have more pics as they come in.

I'd love to have one in Sterling Silver; no doubt too pricey for this pensioner though.

Go ahead. When Bry makes a special edition, you end up using them every day for years and years.

I bought an embarrassing number of his Ripples a few years back, but they're such perfect writers that they're going to pay for themselves over the years. :cloud9:

I hear you, I am pretty smitten with the Alutec, think it would go well with the Carbon Dream. He does a heck of a job and I love Visconti. Bryant being who he is, has even got me liking Delta to go with long held addiction to Omas.

He is a cool cat and has incredible taste. Very good guy and does everything top notch.

Best to all and my enabling buddy

I had once seen a Visconti titanium skeleton. I hear that it wasn't all that expensive, and I recall it looked great as an almost "stealth" pen. Still would love to find one, not too expensive.

Exiting.

I will by all 4 with same number. I guess they will be expensive. Maybe 1.700U$??

Alutec is just brillant idea. And again an innovation from Visconti.

You might want to think again. Probably can't get two for that. You might want to email Bryant. Incidentally I think his price on these is very good, just not four for that....

1700 for all no, but if you're saying 1700 a piece I think you'll be happy....

Just got some pics from Visconti. They are not the best, but give you an idea of at least the Alutec...

Here are some production pics.

 looks pretty darn cool...

love the matching ink pot view window!

the Altec looks more Bling-tastic than I thought it would, or maybe it's just the nasty flash?

Can't wait to have your official photos up here!

Wow. That is one sharp looking pen. Beyond my reach, I'm afraid, but I'll be admiring from afar.

The Alutec makes for a nice looking overlay! And the matching silver box is a nice touch.

Is that an ecoroller, a rollerball that can be refilled from a bottle?

Are the inkwells going to be bundled with the pens or sold separately?

An interesting aspect of this old-is-new-again exercise is whether there is a risk of the ltd edn status of the original run of pens being watered down. It is a tricky one - on one hand you have more of the same (not quite the same, but you know what I mean) and on the other hand, renewed interest (probably) being generated in the old model.

Perhaps it is a bit like having a group of furniture retailers on a particular strip and then another one moving in - although the new shop may be seen as muscling in on the existing shops' territory, having a certain number of shops of the same type creates a critical mass and generates interest by sheer bulk of number!

How about the following scenario to illuminate the point: would Montblanc consider re-doing their Skeleton 333 in a new material? I think if they did, a fair few people would jump up and down and be concerned about the impact on the original pen and name-call Montblanc (money-grubbing corporate etc) and others would say "fantastic, more 333-type pens and now in (say) red gold, yellow gold, carbon .... Wow, the really know what customers like..."

I would be very interested to hear what others think of this issue.

(Personally, I go weak at the knees at the idea of more 333s, same or similar, with different exotic finishes...now how about some lobbying to Montblanc, Bryant??)

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
