BlueNut asked for some blue samples / comparisons. I'll have the water wash results up in the next few days.

Wow amberleadavis!!! thanks very much! :)

It looks to me like Upper Ganges is very similar to Luxury blue, which is what I gathered from your recent blotter test, and Polar blue looks darker.

I'll be interested to see your water test.

Thanks again!

And here it is. I sat it in the bowl and walked away. This was water only for about 10 minutes.

Excelent, amberleadavis! Thank you for this comparision, it is very useful!
Can you please comment on how well does Upper Ganges cleans-off from pens?

For my lab book I think Polar Blue, UG, Luxury blue and Kung Te-Cheng are the only options based on that water test.

Very useful - thanks again

UG looks much brighter in your scan than it does on my paper, but I've noticed a difference in how it looks in my lab book versus my recycled-paper notebook (it looks brighter on the recycled paper note book strangely, and it feathers less, where as I would have sworn before this that the lab book paper was better quality.

Zuku, I have found it easy to clean off, but then I'm somewhat spoiled because I have access to a sonicator bath in my lab, so I put my nib and squeeze converter into a 50 mL tube with some water in it into the bath, and by the second 3 min sonication it was clean (I did 3, but nothing much came out in the third). It also rinsed off my glass dip pen in some water in a few minutes.

LE isn't as vibrant as BSB, but it's very pretty and more fade resistant.

I haven't noticed any problems cleaning UG. Overall it's a very nice ink.

Yeah, I'm with you -- no such thing as too much blue.
Luxury Blue is my favorite blue, but not the one I recommend the most for daily use (Midway Blue) or for permanence (KTC).
