Cambridge Satchel Company

I just took delivery of my new satchel from the Cambridge Satchel Company. It is a very sturdy and well-made satchel. However, I have to admit that the colour is amazingly bright - will need sunglasses whenever I use this satchel :roflmho:

Whoa - that leaves an after-image on the retina!

Suits you name though doesn't it.

Very 'back to school' - I must check them out - do they do the ones with two straps like a rucksack? That would take me right back...

"the colour is amazingly bright" -- now THAT is an understatement!

One doesn't like to exaggerate :bunny01:

DANGER, DANGER, WILL ROBINSON!!! Aaagh, that's eye-watering! It must be one good satchel to have tempted you beyond that ... colour.

Did they really find a cow that was that color?

I'm still trying to figure out how to list all my pens down here.

I bought that identical eye searing thing for my daughter for Christmas. You need dark glasses to look at it.

It wasn't iridescent like that on the website. Just a really pretty pink satchel. Had the shock of my life when I took it out of the box :headsmack:

I've been told that I don't need to wear a reflective vest whilst on the road, as the satchel is better :roflmho:

I bought my wife one of these satchels at Christmas (clear 'hint' dropped!) BUT in fountain pen ink blue not this somewhat brighter tone B)

It wears nicely, softens beautifully and she loves it

I'm getting hints about a purple one... but after this interesting post I may need to double-check the colour.

We knew exactly what we were ordering when I ordered the one for my daughter. It was that very quality of eye searing florescent pink that she wanted, as a bag to carry her laptop in.

I think that's a gorgeous satchel! I've slobbered over their bags before, so I'm going to place it on my wish list!

Thanks, Paddler! It's growing on me :bunny01: I still get comments from people at work all the time. I think they're just envious :P

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
