Dearest FP and Ink Nutters,

We are pleased to announce that we now have a new area for the creative juices called inks :D, namely Inky Recipes. You can find it here:

http://www.fountainp...6-inky-recipes/

Saskia_madding happily agreed to moderate this new forum and the Recipe Index that will go with it (and which will be created soon).

She pulled all the recipes together for us in one spot, so that we may have a running start!

We do hope you will enjoy this forum, and will be happy to partake in it!

Warm regards,

The FPN Moderator and Admin Team

P.S.: While we were at it, the Ink comparasions, Scans and Tests forum was promoted to a proper forum as well :D.

It is nice to see this all in an easy to find location. Thank you. I would encourage those posting recipes to also post pictures as well. For those who posted pictures, loooong ago, and they are now missing, I would hope some would be re-posted with pictures. The UPLOAD tab is really very EASY to use.

Thank you!

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Now all the ink forums are devided over several groups. I would advise combining all the ink-forums in one group. If pens are hardware, one could call this group "wet-ware"

Nice job!

And I also like seeing the ink comparisons forum moved up a level instead of buried under the ink reviews.

Very cool idea - though I can see it causing yet more purchases - Sadly this'll have to be another one of the subforums that I never venture into simply for the fact of saving ink/money haha!

Nevermind... Give it another week and I'm there!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
