Technical Hitch - Fixed

Recommended Posts

Dearest members of our (maybe not so) little Fountain Pen Nuthouse on the digital prairie,

Unfortunately, due to a a small technical hitch with regard to our automated system for hosting payments, exactly during the period when admin wasn't available for fixing this, our site went down.

Fortunately all was fixed around noon Central European time, so everybody should have had access again as from about 2 PM Central European time.

No posts or topics were lost during this outage, we just lost a little online time.

You can all also be sure that we will take measures to prevent thsi from happening in the future.

HTH, warm regards,

Wim

Muchos gracias! Obviously with this kind of problem, it wasn't possible to even access the site to leave a message why it was down ;) but I am thankful it's back up! :D

Best wishes,

~Maja

I honestly didn't know what to do with my free time! So I got some work done. My manager is pleasantly surprised, he doesn't know what happened!

There was a hit in the 1960s when I stayed in Machester/England:

You don't know what you've got,

Until you loose it . . .

I certainly did miss FPN!

Thanks for putting it up again!

Thank god FPN is back!!! :cloud9:

I was checking for I do not know how many times daily to see if FPN is back online, and it made me frustrated not to be able to be in the company of my fellow FPNers... :bonk:

With all the chaotic things that are happening to my country, I think FPN is one of the few things that keep me on the sane side of things...

It goes without saying that a big "thank you" is in order, to you Wim and all the other people that, with their effort, put the FPN back online! :clap1:

+1...I've been in severe withdrawal for two days (seemed like ten). Thanks, Wim, and the other admins for getting our community connected again. I missed everyone!

I was finally able to remove my IV running MB Hitchcock Red ink. Whew.

With the new FPN rules, now I REALLY don't know what to put in my signature.

:D.

It looks like we were down for about 34 hours in total, if I calculated it correctly. :D

I am glad the board is back up and running. With so many forums and sub-forums and the amount of traffic FPN receives, it is really missed when it is down. Thanks for all the hard work and dedication from all the admins who donate their precious time to keeping this vibrant site alive.

We are grateful!

I am grateful for FPN and you, Wim, along with all that FPN's administrators, moderators and members have done to make it possible. Thank you all so much for your love, time and energy in the pursuit of beauty in the art of fountain pens and the arts of writing and drawing in the use of them.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
