I've finally summoned up the courage to list my website here for your critiques.

I know most the photo's aren't up to much.......that is the area I intend concentrating on more in future!

All other comments most welcome.

As a thank you I will give all members of the FPN a 10% discount on any pen purchased from the site until the end of April. The package I have won't allow me to set discount codes, so just Email me after purchasing and I will refund the 10%.

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards

John

That is a great looking pen, not just the green one, I really like the tangerine.

Twissy, two questions...

First, is shipping to the U.S. available, and second, is that tangerine acrylic available regularly? Also, I guess, if the pen is not in stock, would the pricing on it be the same or is there a custom pricing?

Thanks!

Hi Stan,

I ship all over the world, with 2 levels of shipping. Free which is uninsured at the buyers risk, or insured at a cost to the buyer. I've sent 15-20 pens to the States using the free method without any issues so far.

The stock pens on my site are usually one offs that I have either made to practice/keep ,my hand in or a tester. The ones on there at the moment are on sale to raise funds to buy more tools....so I can make more pens :clap1:

A pen made to order will be a slightly more expensive, but if ordered before the end of the month you will still get the 10% discount. Please PM me or contact me through my site for more info!

When I make a pen for someone I don't demand any money up front. I make the pen, then provide pictures for the customer to view and approve. Once approved I will invoice the customer and ship the pen after receipt of payment. If upon receiving the pen the customer is unhappy in any way they can return the pen for a full refund. The only exceptions to this are, for orders that have special nib requirements.

Any more questions or info required please don't hesitate to ask.

Best Regards

John

The Black & White bespoke is absolutely fabulous and John and I are just working on a nib 'tweak'. A beautiful pen and I'm just trying to talk my wife into having one made in burgundy/grey/black/marble or something, for her birthday.

Of course, that means I'd have to have another; keep her company and so on...

...then there's Christmas...!

John, I just wanted to let you know that I'd posted a few pictures of the yellow cigar you mede me over on the "Don't just tell us about the pen you're using, show us" thread. And I'd also like to say thank you again. This pen and the fabulous nib John Sorowka did for it is a better writer than my Nakayas - and that's really saying something. I love it - and use it - almost every day.

Wouldn't it be great if Nakaya used TWSBI piston fillers instead of Platinum cartridge converters?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
