The Lamy 2000 in stainless steel is coming in July-ish.... I was referring to other things ;)

Oh oh! More budgeting is in order on my part!

I don't think it had ever occurred to me before that you probably know (at times) a lot more about what is coming down the road than we do. I can imagine how fun that can be but at the same time how frustrating it is when you'd love to share but cannot because your rep would be irritated and not tell you (or worse like you'd be dropped as a retailer). What agony...what ecstasy.

I know!!! I just found out about the Apple Green Safari this week, and was told not to tell until it was leaked out by someone else, so I didn't have to wait too long with that one, LOL!

The truth is, more often than not, we find out about new things here before hearing from our sales reps/distributors, especially when new items are released overseas before the US, or a bigger retailer gets them in advance for photoshoots for their catalogs. Or like the Waterman inks, finding out about the rebranding before they ever told us to expect it. Big flop there, but that's another story for another thread.

YAY! A celery pen. You know, I find it strange that they haven't put out a limited edition Vista, you know, like a translucent red or blue.

Perhaps that is the fall release replacement for the aluminum special! I'd love an orange to go with the Ahab I'll eventually buy in orange and the orange TWSBI 530 I already own.

I really like this green! cool color. Way more interesting than lime, in my opinion.

What's the ETA again?

I felt the same way, until I remembered that the surprise, whatever it is, likely will end up costing me money. :)

Hmm, the Lamy Dialog 1 (BP) came out in 2003, the Dialog 2 (RB) in 2006, the Dialog 3 (FP) in 2009. Are we set for a Dialog 4 for 2012 (MP or multi-pen?)?

It's usually in the fall, but I have word that there will not be a limited edition Al-Star this year.

:bawl:

Now that is really sad for me but not my bank account.

Atleast the GrannySmith Apple Green Safari is a nice colour to add to my collection. And I'll be needing a matching ink........

I want a pen that will change colours when I tell it to, because I believe I have pens in more colours than the what are in the rainbow.

The Writing Desk have it up now for pre-order, not a bad deal with the converter and EF.

That is a good deal--About $25.00 US dollars with a converter and free shipping (in the UK)!

A clear demonstrator! That is what they are meant to do, aren't they? Just change inks...vbg.gif

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
