Can you method be applied to TWSBI XF nibs? How about Steel Meisternibs (Edison)?

OK, I'm confused. What is the difference between the Bad Boy and the Angel Wings, isn't there another option too?

Same confusion. Not sure if if you just added "With Angel Wings" as extension of the "Bad Boy" title name.

If not, maybe you could summarize all the various modifications, point sizes, prices, and how/when to send payment? Which nib size are you recommending for best looking results

With the new FPN rules, now I REALLY don't know what to put in my signature.

Ah yes, I am always good for a touch of added flex and confusion. happyberet.gif

I have decided that the term "Falcon" though descriptive, was not original, thus Angel Wings came to mind after Ajoe's kind review of my work on the Signum O. ( Link: Signum Orione With Pendleton Point Like a quill plucked from an angel's wing )

Below is a tiny vid that might add further to the chaos.

Click 1 time on the pic below and doodle for about 30 seconds. =]

PB, first off, you have the most wonderful and engaging smile and twinkle in your eyes!

I'm still confused what all modifications you are offering for these TWSBI nibs. Still don't know if the Bad Boy is different from With Angel Wings, and if so, how are they different. I also remember another post that listed the Bad Boy, and another that didn't have as much variation, but forget what you called it.

Again, a list of what you are offering, with the names you are calling them, prices, how & when to pay. I had sent you an email, but I don't know where I am in the queue, or what I am in line to get, what the next step is, etc. It would be great to get your feedback on the recommended point sizes for the Bad Boy with Flex that you are showing in this first thread post. You didn't mention which size you are demonstrating.

So yeah, chaos & confusion to the 4th power. :roflmho:

Is it correct to assume that this is the Schmidt-sourced nib units? How would things be different if I sent in the Bock/TWSBI nib unit?

I'm guessing Schmidt given the shape of the feed underneath in one of the pictures, by the way.

Dear friend ~ In an attempt to simplify ( lest I get more confoosing rolleyes.gif) Let me assure you that you are in the queue ( with a pretty high ranking), and as I recall, you are a Medium kind of man with a flair for finesse and of course, high quality Parker goods. thumbup.gif bunny01.gif thumbup.gif

The Mods are easier than ti have made them seem. They are your pretty much F, M & B with Flex and cursive italic tips. Might I suggest an "M" for you?

To further unravel the mystery, I have named the nibs pictured as: the Pendleton Point "Bad Boy" and am calling the design shape of the modified nib (often referred to as a "Falcon") "Angel Wings".

I hope this helps to untangle the excessive theatrics I seem inclined to pile on so much of my stuff. happyberet.gif My amateur marketing skills are bothersome to some. Especially those with cud munching giraffes in their avatars. cool.gif Who you?

Can you add the flex and a small CI to an XF nib?

Good Q ~ I have been curious to find out myself.

I expect to pick up a few of the TwsBocks in LA and play with them. I have not seen them yet so they may require a slightly different approach to achieve similar results.

I have a really fun feeling about them though. happyberet.gif

Oooo tempting....but I think I will wait a bit to see if similar results can be done for the vac 700 when that comes out ;)

For you Lloyd, all good things are possible. thumbup.gif But as you mentioned the "small CI"; the resulting line variation will be smaller. Yet still will instill a dash of panache. happyberet.gif

And Lloyd, please don't ever change your avatar; strums the Joy chord every time! Plus, I think I know that guy. At least he looks like an old Broadway pal of mine, Tony Azito. =]

That vac 700 is one very cool pen. There still may one of Ricky's great photos floating around the board of the blue one I did for Speedy's wife at the LA Pen Show last year. Yum!

My avatar is of Harold Lloyd who passed away in 1971. So, either you are older than you look by quite a bit or Tony wasn't Harold.

Dear Pen (I liked the sound of that like talking to one of my favorite pens!), I looked up your other thread which is what I think some of us are remembering. You referenced the "Bad Boy" and the "Good Guy" which sound like different performers. I now understand that the Bad Boy With Angel Wings is a single nib mod with prices listed above, and getting a Med from you would be great as you suggest. Do you send me an email when I should send payment?

Not sure if the Good Guy enters into this thread's intention...but that's what some of us were remembering and getting confused about.

Thank you kind sir! :bunny01:

It appears that the Bad Boy (with Angel Wings) in the first photos is a medium, right? Well, the one doing most of the writing. I thought I saw an "M" on the lower left hand side of one of the nibs. I am thinking a broad would be, well, too broad and not able to write well in the smaller spaces of a letter to a friend, the fine would not have the line variation Pen had alluded to. What you do say? I am fascinated and so new at this.

What? Doesn't everyone of every age know the fantastic Harold Lloyd? Those stunts... wow!

Pendleton - your terms still have me confused... Bad Boy... Angel Wings... ? Both describing the same pb2 modified flex nib?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
