Penscapes - New Steampunk Pens

Recommended Posts

Roger received two more of the Steampunk series. These pens are hand machined and assembled by hand. When you see them in person the detail is amazing. You can see the full inventory at http://penopoly.com/category/pens/penscapessteampunkcollection/ or visit us at the Philadelphia Pen Show Jan 20-22.

I want one - if only i had the money!!!!

So i had a strange stroke of luck.

Saw a few steampunk fountain pens on a picture aggregator website, figured i'd google them.

This thread came up as #1 and you happened to mention the penshow in a couple of weeks.

Luckily i live outside of Philly.

Went to register on this site to reply to your post to say thanks and found out i had previously registered.

Anyways, thats the long way of saying, thanks for the post!

I like the steampunk genre. Too bad I will never have one of these fine pens.

They would indeed be cool (ok, hot) to own.

Ron -- Roger's RSS feeds show the titles of each page to be the same ("Steampunk Pens"). FYI, it'd be nice if you had a different title for each page to differentiate the pens when viewing rss feeds.

He only fondles them through glass. Roger would never let him actually touch them, who knows which MB he touched last.

Virtual fondling. The mind boggles.

And I can make sure they're available for fondling at Philly and LA as well!

I travel with an electric cattle prod. Fondle at your own risk.

Hey, aren't those Steampunk pens grand!

And to think that I was politely avoiding commenting on his thing with fondling steampunk pens. I hate to imagine what he'd do with steam punk shoes... or other clothing.

BTW...

We just got an interesting phone call a few days ago...

Pen World magazine informed us that the Penscapes Steampunk series was nominated for "Best use of materials" in their upcoming reader's choice issue! That's quite a compliment!

(and, sort of explains the fondling...)

They look nice and all, but something inside me is telling me that a C/C filling system doesn't feel very steampunk.

Very correct... And reliable... And predictable...

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
