No Conway Stewart Products In India Any More

All the distributors and stockists of Conway Stewart have shut shop and I just exhausted my last bottle of ink. What a pity not to have this brand available at all in India. Does anyone know of a stockist?

Oh well! I see no one is interested in the subject. Perhaps someone could guide me as to the best outlets in Central London - around Oxford Street is preferred.

Hi,

Have you tried contacting William Penn?

Kind regards,

Mary Burke

William Penn has also discontinued Conway Stewart early this summer. After going to all the retail centres and speaking to a few experts I have learnt that Conway Stewart is not available anywhere in India. Why? No one seems to know for sure. Other brands are expanding as the market is said to be expanding. Maybe this is a business idea? Taking a cue from Steve Job's life, I wonder who in Conway Stewart is responsible for expansion in the Indian market? If you do know the contact details please share them with me, I have an idea to put to them.

Thanks

VB

You could contact Penz Solutions located in Gurgaon & Haryana. They are distributors for quite a few brands such as Conway Stewart, DELTA, Pelikan, Porsche Design, ONOTO, etc.

Besides the fact that this is a very old thread and that the OP surely bought another ink... Wasn't Conway Stewart ink just rebranded Diamine?

Towards the end it was but I am not too sure about the early days (i.e. the late 1990s early 2000s).

The old ink (at least 2008-2012) was in the Pelikan bottles, so I am guessing that was their first source for the ink. (just like Cross inks)

And indeed, for our new member Penpro: You were being very helpful, but the older a topic is, the less useful that is. Actually the CS bottles are not the same as Pelikan bottles. Simular shape but slightly smaller and clearly marked "made in England". But it is all water (or ink) under the bridge now.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
