I'll contribute too. I visited the Arizona Memorial last month.

This is more a symbolic shot (not a good photo), but oil continues to seep from the Arizona. Black blobs drift to the surface, start to break up, and then turn to an oil sheen. Then another black blob hits the surface...

Kristi, Visiting the memorial was one of the most humbling, chilling, overcome with emotion moments of my life. I didn't realize how powerful the sight would be. I remember the trip over, everyone on the boat was talking and enjoying the moment. The trip back was total silence.

Not a good picture at all, but I wanted to share this picture I took of The Wall Live in Québec city. There are no words to describe the awesomeness of this show. I'll remember that show for the rest of my life.

My two favorite photos from the last year.

The first, well, I got the focus wrong, but it made for a much better photo than the ones I'd planned. iPhone photo.

Agree with you. The end result is better than what you had intended in the first place. Love these rivulets of water... and the effect on the landscape. Such atmosphere created here...

Well, I haven't had much time to take many pictures worthy of this thread... but I thought I share a more conceptual shot for a change.

As I was cleaning this empty inkwell, I got this shot opportunity...

Thanks for your comment, penspouse.

Here's another: this Swallowtail was large enough to entirely cover my outstretched hand, and did me the favor to pause long enough so I could snap this once-in-a-lifetime shot:

I've got more "butterfiles" and other macro shots that I could post, but don't want to "high-jack" this thread.

If there's agreement among all of the others, here, I'll post a few more -

- I just want to ensure that everyone's ok with a few more of my pics without feeling like I'm overdoing it...

How are you (all) with "snakes" - ? Anyone snake-phobic? I've got some beautiful close-ups of a Garter Snake that was in my yard and "posed" while I snapped away... I could post a couple of those pics, but don't want to freak anyone out...

Edit: I feel the snake photos fit the "...not-as-natural..." concept because all shots were taken from a "snake...in the grass..." perspective - as if you're crawling along with her as she moved toward her brood of baby snakes...!

I'm perfectly ok with snakes. I have friends that hold them. And with the clifhanger in the "edit" you just have to share !! :clap1:

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
