I don't want to cross-post photos, but I thought this photo of Sailor Seiboku would fit this thread pretty well:

Can't seem to find a downloadable version of this pic on this device, but here's a link to four of my favorite sheens:

Tokiwa-Matsu has a reddish sheen to it but I don't know how to capture the sheen exactly all I know I used thermal fax paper

You won't be disappointed. In addition to the sheen, it's a great colour with beautiful shading. The perfect ink IMHO.

You're welcome.  And Newjelan is right, it has some serious shading.  Not just the same color with a thinned to saturated type of shading - but a saturated light blue (almost turquoise) to a saturated deep indigo.  Quite a remarkable ink.

Platinum Mix-Free Cyclamen Pink has the best sheen that I've found so far! On the left is onionskin on the right is Tomoe River

mrphoto,

Tell us true.  Are those dry sheens or my much alluded to "wet" sheens?  The sheen that occurs while said ink is still wet and still in the process of drying?  Jes asking.  ;)

Yes.  I've not vanished.  At this very moment I am cleaning my caked dry, shamefully neglected, pen collection of soon to be resurrected, PENS!!  Yet still wanna find some sheen in the brush pen world, which I have long been  a wayward captive of.  I WILL sheen, again!!  ;)

Just one question about the photos mhphoto: Do you drop more ink on a line after it has dried? I ask because normal writing doesn't show much sheen for some of those inks.

So very distraught at the news that Sailor is discontinuing Sky High. :'(

Just one question about the photos mhphoto: Do you drop more ink on a line after it has dried? I ask because normal writing doesn't show much sheen for some of those inks.

My most recent examples are actually straight from my Master Ink Catelog (*dun*dun*dun*!). The paper is in a Rhodia notebook, and I used a Q-tip to make the swabs, dropping more ink in the area where sheen's the most prominent.

Not too good photos...
Some very little sheen with Kingdom Note Tanna Japonensis, but the shading is awesome.
P1190317_www.kepfeltoltes.hu_.jpg

And surprising amount of sheen with Iroshuzuku Take-sumi. The pen was resting for a while....

Someone may have already said this (I haven't read the entire thread) but Diamine Majestic Blue has a beautiful reddish sheen on Clairefontaine paper.

Akkerman Shocking Blue has a massive red sheen and shades as well. Perfect stuff, that.

Yama-dori

Yama-dori - 4B - Perle Noire
The Yama-dori doesn't show it's sheen now, because of the posting nib.
