Requisite Cat Photo

I started this idea on another forum.

For those of you who are your cat's staff, this one will be easy. For everyone else, any feline will do.

Tanner woke me up last night to feed her, only she must be petted the entire time she is eating. Finally, after three tries at getting me to behave, she flicked her tail and walked outside.

In this photo, she's absconded with my cashmere shawl....

Tanner, well, she's a fraidy cat and she looks to me like she's about to bolt now that her secret's been discovered.

Love the pic of Cheetah in the fridge!

She's a shelter cat, but she's got a lot of the right markings for a Bengal (at least part Bengal). In discussing with the shelter folks, there are a lot of stray and shelter cats in San Antonio that have the markings (as well as behavior, such as water loving, jumping in the tub, etc.) of Bengals - they know all about it because their behavior is different/distinctive (sometimes I swear Cheetah thinks she's a dog - when I come home, she comes to the door and rolls over for me to scratch her belly). I figure some irresponsible owner of a Bengal Tomcat let their unfixed Tom roam around San Antonio some years ago... :glare:

Some years ago, "Animal Cops Houston" had an episode where they seized half wild-half domestic cats from a breeder. They made a lengthy statement about how wild those cats are. So some breeders might have gotten rid of "surplus stock".

The seized cats were first or second generation hybrid domestic to wild cats, it takes at least 4 generations from the founding hybrids to make a nice domestic cat with wild coloring.

My 2 Maine Coons, the male Pippin used to be my avatar some of you may recall. The brown tabby color is Snickers, she's the queen in more ways than one.

Perhaps I should take the time to sift through my cat pictures over this weekend and get some to post here. I might make the thread long unless I get multiple cats in the image. I have 7 cats.

Part of the problem is that it is hard to photograph black cats.

A few months ago I posted about my nieces cat, Burt, who was poisoned with anti-freeze.

Yesterday two new kittens came to live with her. They are 8weeks old and sisters. They are called Cagney and Lacey. :headsmack: (My nieces all time favourite TV show) Sorry about the photo. She took it with her iphone.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
