Custom Retip Pictures From Greg Minuskin

Hi All,

 

Well, another start to a busy week, and I just wanted to share some of the custom oblique stubs, italics, and cursive italics I recently did for a good customer. The request was for retips to be oblique, and in the size range of .7mm to 1.00mm. The challenge is to preserve most of the original white plating on those nibs that are plated, and at the same time set them up properly, when provided, as in the case of the M800 Pelikan nib units, so that the tines are even; no easy feat with an oblique nib, especially when they are italics!

 

Also a very tricky vent hole crack repair to a Duro Conway Stewart nib!

I have yet to have a pen I deemed worthy of your work, one that I would write with often enough to feel worthy of your skill (since I frequently carry multiple pens with multiple ink colors). However, I visit your site every once in a while just to see the beauty and craftsmanship you are capable of....

Thanks for sharing your work Greg. Most of my pens are less than three years old, but I'm using them with the confidence that when my obsessive scribbling wears their tips down, you'll be able to apply your magic on them.
