I think it's really a question of what I can find. Metal piston threads are important. Beyond that, I just want a smooth, fairly firm B nib with good flow. Tri-tone would be preferable, but it's really not that big an issue.

Not really. The current production 149 has a tri tone nib and metal filler threads. BB come less often on the used market since may be not many people can use them for daily mundane writing tasks, so it may be bought less often when new. However I have been able to find OBB, B, BB 149s on ebay. Most of the times the sellers will not know the nib width since Mb does not mark them on the nib or pen, you will have to observe the nib photo to gauge what the nib width might be. good luck hunting your ideal 149.

I saw this comment and thought I would throw out there that I have an Imperial Dragon Pencil for sale. I'm open to offers before it goes on ebay. No box or papers but in great condition and rare.
