Mauricio

Recommended Posts

I recently acquired a lot of nibs. Since I am not going to use them all, I am selling the surplus.

Parker 51 Octanium NOS nibs in fine and medium widths, made in USA. New, never used, and in good condition. $14 per nib + shipping.

Vintage Sheaffer nibs. Most of them are standard size nibs, in the dual tone color. There are also some Palladium and Lifetime. No oversize nibs available.

No nib in this lot has broken or bent tines/shafts. Selling them "as is". Dual tone nibs are $30 each + shipping. All others are $20 each + shipping.

If ordering, please specify, Upper or Lower Row and then the nib # (1, 2, 3, ...) from left to right on that row.

Shipping will be free if consolidated with the purchase of any fountain pen from my website.

Separate and uninsured shipments will be $3 per package within the US or $12 international. Insured shipping will be a little more, please ask for rates.

First firm "I want it" gets the nib.

Hi Maurico,

I received your package today. If any on the 51 octanium nibs seem larger than the rest, I may want I few. I've had some good fortune stubbing and italic(ing) 51 nibs lately.

Regards,

danny

The following Sheaffer nibs are now ON HOLD, pending payment:

First row: Nibs 9, 10 & 11

Second row: Nibs 3 & 5

A lot of Octanium P51 nibs have been sold. Starting to get low on the mediums, but a bunch of fines still available.

Recap:

Octanium Parker 51s:

Medium: 7 left

Fine: A bunch still left

Available Vintage Sheaffers:

First row: Nibs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 12

Second row: Nibs 1, 2. 4. 6 and 7

All others are sold.

I would consider trading the Sheaffer nibs. Looking for a Sheaffer standard size or oversize in Carmine color and for a Balance Oversize in Marine Green Marbled.

  • 5 months later...

Whoops. Old listing.

Fred,

No. All of those nibs were traded at the Arkansas Pen Show in March. I do not anticipate having any additional Sheaffer nibs.

I still have NOS Parker 51 octanium nibs. Still quite a few in FINE width and a couple of MEDIUM left.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
