Pelikan M605 Dark Blue

I just checked the Galeria-Kaufhof website and much to my surprise, it looks like the 99 Euro Blue M605s are back in stock. They are fantastic pens and can be ordered in the U.S. with a credit card and a bit of legwork. They tend to go fast, so if you missed them the first few times around, now might be your chance.

Hello!

Yes, indeed! They are available at the moment, that is why I sell them via this forum! One can not order out of Germany and they do not deliver outside the country.

So I think I am quite fair with my price that gives me only a small amount of profit (~ $30). Have a look on ebay.com and you will see how much my price is competitive (one can also order another than the M nib)

I sell these fountain pens (more than 5 are available) for $190 incl. registered shipping to the USA!

Regards, greetings from Germany.

Christian

Christian--I respectfully disagree with your statement that orders cannot be fulfilled outside of Germany. I have had these very pens shipped from Germany to the U.S. two or three times without incident. Kaufhof charges approximately 21 Euros for shipping to the U.S. for the first pen and 10 Euros or so more for additional pens. Intra-European shipment is probably cheaper.

Of course there are many people who would rather purchase from other FPN members than from a foreign department store for any number of reasons (language issues, giving credit card information, etc.) and I'm sure they would be happy to find one available at a price comparable to that of a normal M400.

Hello!

If they do so, let me know how (:-))) I have just had a telephone call with Galeria Kaufhof and they denied to deliver to foreign countries.

Well, everyone is free to buy it from them if they do so. As this is a Pelikan M605, one can not compare it to a Pelikan M400 (other size - smaller). This fountain pen as I have stated already, has been sold for ~$300

Regards

You can't order via the website, but they'll take orders by phone or e-mail if you have a credit card. At least some of the employees do speak English so it's quite painless. Just remember to let your card company know so they don't block the charge.

Me too? Any good Deutcher brethren willing to work with a Yank? What would the total be with postage to 67851, USA?

A regular parcel Germany-USA is about $46, insured with tracking. Without tracking/insurance the parcel is about $21.

Greetings,

Michael

Hi guys,

shipping insured and tracking amounts to $210 from Germany to anywhere in the US. Not sure about customs fees and whether or not you are able to reclaim VAT (would be around 20 methinks).

If you guys are interested shoot me a PM and I can order a pen for you after receipt of Paypal payment.

Do they let you choose a nibs size?

This pen taught me an early FP lesson that generally, it's just not a good idea to sell my own personal pens.

I got one for a very reasonable price after some backchannel dickering with Regina Martini. Mine ended up with a Masuyama CI in it. Schweet.

The Silver toned trim to me was especially nice.

I ended up selling it to finance my M600 Baby Ocean Blue which of course, also Masuyama equipped, I adore.

Still, I wish I had not sold this 605. :(

I did somewhat learn from this though. I'd put my own personal pens sold at less than a handful.

I think I've sold 2 and gifted 2.

This 605 is the only one of the 4 I'd really like back. In fact, I even asked my friend I sold it to if They still had it. No joy.

Just get the Medium and have Mike Masuyama put a rounded CI grind on it.

Just Trust Me! on this.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
