Right now, Organics Studio Jules Verne. Filled my new FPR Dilli with the flex nib and didn't wipe the section off enough before trying it out. For some reason I am more likely to get blue ink on my hands than any other color. Any reason for that besides the fact that I more different blue inks than any other color? Hmm, probably not.

Montblanc Racing Green!!! Filled up the green Esterbrook J with a broad 2968 nib. I still have about a 1/2 bottle of MBRG left but it was a really good ink.

Diamine Orange

I always get a kick out of these "no affiliation" notations when it's blatantly obvious the poster has absolutely nothing to do with the brand, company, etc. beyond being a customer. It must be a feel-good/feel-important thing. So I'll note up front that nothing I write here on this forum is influenced by any financial-gain motivation.

Private Reserve Sherwood Green put in my green Esterbrook with a stub nib - it shades nicely on both paper and fingers.

Noodler's Black Swan Australian Roses. I made the stupid error of forgetting to empty an eyedropper before I got on a plane, and deserved the drenched pen case and apparent case of leprosy I ended up with as a result.

The stuff does not wash off the hands easily. I discovered the slip-up about five minutes before a meeting when I picked up the pen and unscrewed the cap without looking, and despite a vigorous scrubbing in the office kitchen with a scouring sponge, people in the meeting still asked me what was wrong with my hands. The middle finger on my right hand still looks as if it has undergone a particularly nasty burn.

Same ink for me today :D, I cleaned a Red Estie before shipping it off to its new owner.

I got tired of the ink stains, and started using latex gloves when cleaning pens. Still have an occasional accident though, like this morning when I opened my Noodlers Nib Creeper rollerball and forgot to burp out the air. Now I have PR Super Violet on my hands. A little amonia should fix that in a hurry.

The worst part is it's under my thumbnail, but don't worry, when I hit it with the driver's bit it poked a small hole, so the pressure doesn't build up......

Now if it would just quit oozing...

As far as ink, a bit of Pelikan blue (great for work!) but most has washed of at this point...

Ouch!

I did something similar a number of years ago, only in my case it was getting a window slammed down on my finger. Under the nail was black and blue for about a 2 months.

Ink today is Organics Studio Charles Darwin.

My mother was discharged, following a short stay at the hospital. I drove her home, while my brothers packed her things from the hospital room -- clothes, slippers, flowers, "get-well" cards. When we gathered to unpack, I found two extra bath towels (?), a large canister of disinfectant wipes, and 1-1/2 boxes of rubber gloves. Ex post facto : my fingers are clean, and will remain so for the foreseeable future.

(They are lucky my bros didn't take the furniture.)

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
