Since I'm avoiding doing my work and since someone posted a topic on FPN about being unable to find Fountain Pen Friendly Post-It Notes I thought I'd post a quick and dirty review of these.

I love post-it notes and use them pretty much everyday. On my desk I always have one of these 4x4 Yellow Ruled Post-it Note pads.I'm not sure about every other type of Post-It and I'm not sure about quality control on these, but the ones I've used are exceptionally FP friendly. In fact, the paper out performs many other cheap papers I've tried despite the fact that it is lightly coated. There is no feathering or bleed through. Drying time is a bit extended (probably because of the coating). The lines do not absorb ink as you can see in the photo.

Thanks for the review. I was not aware of a 4 X 4 ruled Post-it. This looks like the size and the format I can use.

There will be no crisis this week. My calendar is already full.

Good review, I have found similar results from these post-it notes.

I like the Super Sticky line even better. Sadly, the Super Sticky Rcycled ones are not cut from the same cloth. :-(

I've actually got a pad of Super Sticky Recycled Post-Its on my desk right now: 3" square, and light blue. They behave pretty much the same as Dizzy describes--no feathering or bleedthough, long dry times. Maybe this line has improved in the past 2+ years?

(I'm writing with Diamine Ancient Copper in a Montblanc 145 with a M nib, by the way.)

Currently in rotation: Wing Sung 698/Diamine Blue Velvet, Wing Sung 618/Diamine Golden Oasis, Lamy Profil 80/Pelikan Edelstein Aventurine

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
