Originally we only proposed the smaller pads. But some may prefer letter size. Hence this poll.

We can have letter size pads available provided there is enough interest. They will be more expensive than the smaller pads obviously.

I believe all pads are 50 sheets per.

Both sizes because sometimes you want to write just a note (and a big sheet is too big), and other times you might want to write a letter (and a smaller sheet just won't do)...Just my 2 cents...I have tried Jimmy Tom's notepads and they are very nice :)

Let's not forget that some of us voted before the "both" option was there. I'd like both, but voted for the smaller one.

You know what? Maybe I should have my wife draw up something. She is a really good artist that does a lot of drawings such as scratch art and charcoal. Ill ask her tonight and see what she can come up with. I think plain text would be too boring and generic. If we are going to do this then we need to do it right!!

I agree with Maja--each pad size has a different purpose. I think that I could find a use for either or both. Great idea--pursue it with vigor! LMB

Thanks to everyone who has helped on this. We will make it happen.

Thanks NS (hope you don't mind me shortening that) for the offer. If she's interested than FPN would appreciate her ideas/input very much.

I do think we need to distinguish ourselves with a graphic.

Oh you troublemaker you!

Well - I know it's physically possible. But it is more difficult and would add cost to the product. I will talk to JT about it. And let you know if it is feasible for him and how much it would impact the price.

I've always thought the best answer to that problem was a sheet of lined paper behind the one you are writing on. Lots of stationery suppliers include one lined sheet in a pad for just that purpose.

Using lined paper behind the sheet being written on would probably not be very suitable considering the paper's weight. I believe the paper in question is at least 24# if not 28# paper, thus not very transparent.

OK apparently 24# is 90g/m^2 which is what my Clairefontaine pads are. They work just fine with a heavily ruled sheet behind them.

I have used heavy ruling guides under Jimmy's notepaper - but it requires good lighting to do so as this is quite opaque paper.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
