  • 1 month later...

For the rest of this month I am offering a free traveling inkwell with a purchase of this pen.

Cheers!

Bry

:)

Hmm....for the price of those, I think you should kick in a Wall St. LE. :ltcapd: I'm joking of course, my friend.

Anyone becomes mannered if you think too much about what other people think. (Kim Gordon)

I would be more than happy to include a WSLE for another 375. Thanks!

BTW... These are available with the Palladium nibs or 18k, Which ever you prefer.

Non-Christians don't share Visconti's enthusiasm about the Templars' role in the Crusades.

Enjoy the pen anyway

Its a good thing they were so long ago that they do not matter anymore, and nice of them to bequeath some heraldry to the future that can be used as decoration. We are fortunate to live at a time that the human race is starting to mature a little and this superstitious nonsense is becoming just the window dressing of history. There is always going to be some immature person out there who will object to the appearance of some decorated art or other. I think we just have to learn to accept it, and just pat them on the head and say "yes" "yes", then ignore them. I have heard exactly the same response to the 60th Anniversary of Israel pen, and a moon and stars ball pen I have. It is fortunate for pen collectors that pen makers are able to look at all sorts of historical sources of heraldry and art for inspiration, and we are fortunate enough to be able to appreciate ancient symbolism as art. There is not enough room on this page to list all of the art out there that some person will not find reasons to object to for some specious reason or other, so I don't think you need to worry too much about this pen. There is something for everyone in this pluralistic world, and those people who do not like something for any reason are free to choose something else.

I'd like Hindu, Buddhist, Zorastrian, Muslim and Baha'i imagery to go with the Jewish and Christian themes, but that doesn't stop me appreciating a pretty design and lusting after one. :cloud9: Simply consider the country of origin and don't buy the pen if you find the design troublesome.

Bryant, how's the supply on these?

I got lambasted really badly once for a Buddhist inspired item that I have. They could not see that the crooked cross was a mirror image of the one they were objecting to. I see it as you do, art is art

:puddle: Such a beautiful pen. Too bad that it will never be in my price range. I suppose I could sell one of my kids. :ltcapd:

Long live the Empire!

Do they have braces or other dental work? You could do like I did, and sell all their dental fittings for scrap. I got to keep one of my kids that way. :roflmho:

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
