Alright....finally received, re-sized and uploaded the Little Rock Trunk and Pen Show pics...it was an ordeal this time. (Bloody Mac!

But a nice way to recap and end this month of March  :)  I can still feel the good vibes...

I am pleased to report that Saturday turned out to be a very successful day up at my booth at Portobello.

A gentleman from New Delhi turned up to see me, with a view to buying a Jasmine [A.E.], and 'possibly' a red hard rubber Simpini Pen.

After quite a long time talking and looking at the overlay pens in my selection box, he decided that he wanted the two pens afore-mentioned, and the Marilyn Monroe Pen!!!

Which was very welcomed business! :D

I only bought one vintage pen during the course of the day, a silver-striped pattern Oversized Vacumatic, but I spent most of Sunday working on it, and eventually got it finished today by lunchtime! They are one of those pens, where you can discover something wrong with almost every part of the pen! The more you take it apart, the more that you find another bit that needs replacing!

Still, I persevered, and now it is done!

Thank goodness!!!

Wow that sounds like a great day at the office!

On a separate note there's a long-overdue portfolio added to Henry's website gallery....  http://penman.photiu...the-simpini-pen

Thanks Neal! Too bad Marilyn got away before she could make it into the hall of fame....

That was a tremendous Saturday, indeed! This keeps up and you'll need bodyguards

and an armoured car! ;)

A brief montage of Henry's visit to The Little Rock Pen Show...

12954613683_7320be0164_b.jpg

I did a bit of repairing yesterday, the little Parker Duofold Junior [Jade] with the rare two-tone Duofold nib. [Bottom right hand side of the picture above].

I bought it at the Little rock Pen Show, and was told at the time that those nibs are particularly rare, not only because they are two-tone, but because they were sequentially numbered, [similar to the idea first started by Sheaffer's, whereby people were able to identify their pen by the number on the nib!]

After Parker 'adopted' the idea, Sheaffer took them to court over their infringement of the idea, and subsequently won the case! Parker withdrew the remainder of the pens that had been made, and so now they are quite 'sought-after' by collectors!

At least that is what the 'seller' told me when I saw it!!!

I have no reason to disbelieve the story, but I have never seen another one of those nibs in all the time I have been dealing with fountain pens, but I would welcome any comments about the validity of what I was told when I bought the pen.

I've had two bursts of inspiration over the last few days! :eureka:

I have made another Marilyn Monroe overlay, [having sold the first one just recently], and now I am working on a second 'Mermaid with Bubbles'. Both are in silver, and I must say the bubbles are particularly difficult to execute. I made the first one over four years ago, and I had completely forgotten just how carefully I have to be to get it right, there is no room for a mistake, one slip of the piercing saw, and bang goes all the work done so far! Which means that the further one gets with the work the pressure gets more intense!

Still, I'm enjoying the challenge!
