Dear Admin Team,:)9

Can you please post the link to the Objectionable Posts forum so I can see some samples of what I'm supposed to object to? It's hard to know when to press the soon-to-be-repaired button without some samples.

I've been told I'm pretty good about pressing other peoples buttons so I hope that skill transfers well to this context.

If the Objectionable Posts forum is really good, admins can password protect it and issue the passwords only to FPNers who meet certain standards, i.e., number of posts, percentage of Objectionable Posts contributed, and demonstrated ability to get the nib out of a "51" without damaging the pen, nib, or finger.

So much of FPN is wonderful I think the Objectionable Posts forum could be one of our most popular features.

BTW, Please don't tell me to check out some other Pen Boards to see some Objectionable Posts. I'm loyal to the gang here!

PS, didja know that if you use too many smileys you get an error message? Maybe the prize for message volume or humor is permission to use more smileys?

It seems the button is working again. I just missed my big chance to be objectionable and go unpunished...

I think I’m gonna use it to communicate with our moderators... :eureka:

Auntie,

Thanks, but no need.

Don't take me too seriously. I was just kibbitzing.

As far as I can tell the report button is still not working.

Also, I know you're just kidding, but many times that a post is reported it's not a matter of someone trying to be rude, and we don't "punish". In the recent case, it's a matter of opinion on whether a joke was offensive or not. These things are often so hard to call.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
