Market Watch Rules

Market Watch rules, in addition to the general rules and guidelines.

 

The Market Watch forum is intended for informing the membership of good deals and good experiences with vendors and pen service providers.

 

The rules of engagement are as follows:

 

  • Companies, Retailers, or otherwise affiliated parties, who are not Premium Account holders, should post all company announcements in the Market Watch forum. A maximum of One (1) announcement per month is permitted.
  • In the Market Watch forum no pricing information will be allowed.
  • For any announcements more than one per month and a series of other benefits, above mentioned parties will have to purchase a Premium Account in order to post company announcements. They will be able to make announcements in The Mall forum.
  • Posts are allowed for any non-commercial member to inform those interested about a deal on the web or in a B&M store that may have wider interest.
  • Posts containing links to your own eBay listings are strictly prohibited, except in The Mall forum (Premium Account Holders only). eBay auctions may only be discussed after they are closed.
  • Members are not allowed to direct other members, either through hotlink, through comments or otherwise, to any live e-Bay auctions or other auction sites. No information such as URLs, item numbers, or seller IDs may be posted unless the eBay sale is strictly a "buy it now" sale with no bidding options available, or unless it is available through an eBay store.
  • Group buys must have approval of the Moderator and Admin Team prior to initiating these on The Fountain Pen Network. This also holds true for charity events and auctions, "vote for me or someone I know" contests, etc.
  • Never ending Pay-It-Forward topics/threads or PIFs, which basically amounts to trading between a very small group of members only, is not allowed. Furthermore PIFs are only permitted in this, the Market Watch forum, and can only be started after permission has been obtained from the Moderator and Admin Team.

 

It should be noted that the Market Watch forum is NOT for:

  • Advertising your own FPN classified ads. This is duplicating your post - which is not allowed.
  • Advertising your own eBay sale. If you are selling on eBay, there is no need to advertise your sale here, as the search engines on eBay are perfectly adequate for a well described sale. Furthermore, advertising your own eBay sale is considered to be an offense, and will be acted upon as such.

 

Market Watch entries not complying with the purpose of the Market Watch forum and/or the general rules and guidelines, will be removed, and further disciplinary actions may follow.
